Clear Ink, a marketing communications i-shop, laid off 13 employees today, citing concerns about the current business climate.

“We’re trying to look six months ahead and with the stock market the way it is and the uncertainty, we decided to take the medicine now when we have a cold as opposed to when we have pneumonia,” said CEO David Burk.

The shop, whose clients include Jelly Belly, PeopleSoft, Restoration Hardware and the San Francisco Opera, laid off employees across the board.
