ATLANTA Rockett, Burkhead & Winslow has named Walter Clarke an agency partner.
Clarke joined the shop in 2001 as an account supervisor and will continue to lead its healthcare practice, the agency said.
Clarke, who was promoted to a senior vice presidency in 2002, has been credited with more than doubling the Raleigh, N.C., shop's healthcare business. Howard Rockett, chairman and chief executive officer at RB&W, said that Clarke added two clients on the West Coast, one in London, and also recruited an experienced account team.
"Walt has a deep sense of responsibility towards existing clients, a passion for growth, sharp strategic instinct and standards that make this organization great," Rockett said.
Clarke said that he looks forward to continued success and growth at RB&W. He will continue to work on accounts such as Salix Pharmaceuticals, Duke University Health System, Johnson & Johnson and Valeant Pharmaceuticals, the shop said.
Prior to joining RB&W, Clarke was an intelligence officer in the U.S. Army, stationed in Saudi Arabia and Germany. His resume lists stops at Dudnyk Healthcare Group in Horsham, Pa., and Medical Broadcasting Co. in Philadelphia.
