BOSTON Clarity Media Group has chosen Thomas Taber & Drazen as its lead advertising and marketing agency, according to Bryan Thomas, chief executive officer of the independent shop.
Clarity spent $300,000 in measured media during the first eight months of this year after spending just shy of $1 million through all of 2006, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
The account includes strategic, creative and media planning responsibilities for The San Francisco Examiner, Washington Examiner, Baltimore Examiner and examiner.com, which serves the newspaper markets as well as 54 other major markets as a news and informational site. Maiden Lane in San Francisco, which closed earlier this year, had previously handled the assignments.
Denver-based TTD had previously worked for Clarity on various projects, and the shop will now handle all media planning for the group as well as buying for the San Francisco market. (Washington and Baltimore media will be purchased by a local agency.)
The client credited the past relationship and TTD's overall "strategic thinking on how we can build out our business to additional markets" with helping the shop secure the new role.
Print, broadcast, out-of-home and direct-response efforts are all on tap.
TTD's other clients include Park City Mountain Resort, Icon Advisers, Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance and Built Green Colorado. The shop handles a mix of online and offline chores.
