DALLAS RD&F Advertising is breaking a TV and interactive campaign for Cirro Energy this week that pitches the client’s electric rates as lower than those of the incumbent utility, the agency said.

Using “Be smart” as a tagline, the spot uses a deadpan narrative as a homeowner tries to save on electricity by smashing lights, dumping his window-unit air conditioner and other drastic measures.

The spot was created for the “switching season” in Texas when air conditioning begins to raise the cost of electricity, the agency said.
