CHICAGO Interpublic Group’s Campbell Mithun has promoted agency veteran Steve Wehrenberg to CEO, succeeding Jack Rooney in the post. Rooney is leaving to become North American CEO of WPP Group’s OgilvyAction and president of Ogilvy & Mather in Chicago.
“Steve has been groomed for this position and we expect that the transition in leadership will be seamless,” said Rooney in a statement. “Our clients and our people are most pleased that our management depth is such that Steve can step right into the CEO position.”
