BOSTON--After nine months at Arnold Communications in Boston, James Cameron is returning to rival Hub shop Ingalls, Quinn & Johnson.
The five-year Ingalls veteran joined Arnold last August as vice president and associate creative director. He worked for clients like Nynex and Hasbro's Playskool division. Playskool moved some $25 million in billings from Arnold when it consolidated its ad account at Grey Advertising in New York.
Cameron insisted that the account switch did not influence his decision to return to Ingalls next week as a vice president and group creative director. '(Playskool's decision) really didn't have much effect on me and it's not having much of an effect on Arnold,' Cameron said.
'I called him a couple months ago to see how he was doing,' said Ingalls senior vice president and creative director Rob Rich. 'We missed him. It was an open position. We'd hired different people (who filled some of Cameron's duties) but we'd never really replaced him on a one-for-one basis,' Rich said.
Cameron plans to rejoin Ingalls April 28 to work on Citizens Bank and new business pitches. Arnold is seeking his replacement, a shop representative said. There is still a Cameron at the shop, however. His daughter, Angie, serves as an assistant producer.
