Faced with a persistent shortage of teachers, California hopes a new warm and fuzzy ad initiative will help recruit people eager to serve as role models.

Created by the creative services arm of Ogilvy Public Relations in Sacramento, the work is aimed at recruiting 11,000 teachers for grades K-12 by the end of the year.

The agency has launched two campaigns for the California State University system’s CalTeach program—one focusing specifically on recruitment and the other on generally improving the perception of teaching.
