CHICAGO Leo Burnett worldwide CEO Linda Wolf will retire from the shop at the end of April, according to the agency. Tom Bernardin will succeed her in the post, the first outsider to hold the job in the agency’s 69-year history. The move had been expected.

“Since joining us in February 2004, Tom has proven he is absolutely the right person to lead the network into the future,” Wolf said in a statement. “He’s demonstrated a passion for our business and an understanding of what is needed to ensure our long-term success.”
