Muse Cordero Chen & Partners was tapped by Leo Burnett to handle African American marketing on the $95 million U.S. Army account.
The selection came after a four-month review. Burnett initially solicited credentials from 21 agencies, and three shops were selected as finalists.
Ray DeThorne, the Chicago agency's evp in charge of the Army account, cited Muse Cordero Chen's work for Nike, Honda and Wells Fargo in making the selection.
The Los Angeles shop succeeds Images USA, Atlanta, on the account. That agency was dismissed after disagreements over the fees that Burnett paid subcontractors and other issues, according to sources [Adweek, June 17].
