NEW YORK Bank of America, one of Interpublic Group’s largest clients, has contacted at least two other holding companies—WPP Group and Omnicom Group—about its marketing business.

The Charlotte, N.C., client spends an estimated $600 million annually on all forms of marketing. (Spending last year in domestic measured media was $240 million, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.)
