NEW YORK ING Direct and Bartle Bogle Hegarty have split, two years after the online bank hired the shop to handle creative duties on its ad account, the client confirmed on Wednesday.

At the time New York’s BBH was hired in 2002, estimated billings were $50 million. The client, however, spent about $20 million in measured media last year, according to Nielson Monitor-Plus.

A client representative who confirmed the split said it was “amicable” but declined to elaborate.
