Peter A. May-er Advertising will retain the Audubon Institute account it has held for the past six years.
The incumbent topped another New Orleans shop, Montgomery Stire & Partners, for the $1.5 million account. The field was narrowed from an original list of nine; Porter Novelli of Washington, D.C., slated for the finals, withdrew prior to presentations.
The institute's zoo, aquarium and other venues are Louisiana's leading visitor attractions, but will be challenged next year with the opening of several competing tourist sites in New Orleans.
"We look forward to building Audubon's . . . visitor revenue through targeted marketing programs," said agency president Mark Mayer. --Janet Plume
