NEW YORK Aegis Group said it has suspended the CEO of the media agency’s Central European region, Aleksander Ruzicka, after the company was informed last week by German authorities that he was under investigation for alleged crimes including embezzlement.

Andreas Boelte, chief financial officer for Central European and South African operations who now adds the title of acting CEO, has replaced Ruzicka, who held the post since 1999.

Beyond confirming the suspension, Aegis, parent of the Carat, Isobar and Vizeum networks, offered no further comment.
