If you already feel a little overwhelmed by the Olympics, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. Ads for the 2002 Winter Olympics are on the way.

Publicis Dialog in Salt Lake City kicks off the first round of work this week during coverage of the Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. The $6-10 million push will include TV spots on NBC and print work. The agency won the account after a quiet review.

Agency officials acknowledge that a two-year head start is unusual for promoting the Winter Games, but said Olympic officials are eager to get the word out early and dev elop an identity for the games.

“Historically they have not done much 15 to 16 months out,” said agency president Dave Thomas.
