ARIZONA

Taste Unlimited has opened a new office in Tucson. The firm, based in Riverside, Calif., focuses on food-industry clients and develops ad campaigns, packaging, sales, marketing and point-of-purchase materials.

COLORADO

Boulder's TDA Advertising & Design was tapped by Colorado Ski Country USA after a monthlong review. The agency has been charged with creating a campaign to get more out-of-state visitors to visit Colorado's 25 ski and snowboard resorts.

Cactus Marketing in Denver added three clients: Alternative Technology, a computer software and services distributor; Murphy Creek Development, for which the shop will develop a campaign to launch a new residential golf-course community; and Raytheon, which is preparing for the launch and promotion of its business-to-business e-Center Technologies product line.

Scream Advertising in Denver also added a trio of new clients: Redfeather, a Denver snowshoe company; Hind, a high-tech running and cycling apparel company in Boulder; and GoodLifeHomes.com, an Internet startup focusing on specialty real estate.

The creative services division of Carl Thompson Associates, Louisville, was tapped by the Rockport Healthcare Group to design and produce its 2001 annual report.

Denver-based Qwest Communications has partnered with AOL Time Warner in an agreement that will make Qwest the primary provider of AOL Time Warner's network services, while Qwest will purchase advertising from AOL Time Warner's print, TV and online outlets.

NEVADA

The Creative Group, Las Vegas, was retained by environmental consulting firm Talbot Environmental to create corporate identity and collateral materials. The agency was also retained by Plush Home Corp., a company that works with home-decor manufacturers.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Kane and Finkel Healthcare Communications, San Francisco, was chosen to help launch InSite Vision's genetic glaucoma test, ISV-900. The partnership strengthens the agency's presence in opthalmics healthcare marketing and expands its client base in the biotechnology field.

Mondo Media in San Francisco tapped the San Francisco office of Mediasmith to plan and place media for a new campaign aimed at the advertising industry.

Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco breaks print work this month for Crystal Cruises designed to showcase the client's "six-star" service and wide range of destinations. As research, Goodby creatives traveled aboard the luxury cruise line, visiting six countries in 15 days.

Mering & Associates in Sacramento is launching a campaign for the California State Fair that is scheduled to run Aug. 17-Sept. 3. Animated TV spots built around the theme "Fair out, man" incorporate late '60s/early '70s pop culture. Print and outdoor ads are also planned.

OREGON

Leopold Ketel & Partners in Portland was retained by Big Town Hero, a sandwich chain headquartered in town. The shop's responsibilities will include strategic advertising, design and public relations.

Portland-based Grady Britton has begun work on a fall campaign for healthcare firm Kaiser Permanente in Salem. The campaign includes radio and print ads.

KnollGroup in Portland was tapped by Country Heritage Farms to rebrand the company's products as premium handcrafted preserve.

Rosen/Brown Direct in Portland created a campaign promoting Lucent Technologies' Stinger Remote Terminal DSL access multiplexer. The work generated an 8 percent response rate over six months.

Vinton Studios in Portland completed two spots for Chili's restaurants. The ads, featuring cave paintings and origami chili peppers, were directed by Kirk Kelley and Teresa Drilling.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Xplor International, a nonprofit electronic document systems association, tapped The T&O Group in Irvine for interactive services. A new campaign enhances Xplor's Web site, integrating an earlier print slogan, "Blink and you will miss it."

Bulldog Drummond in San Diego developed a sales campaign for Virgin Entertainment known as Virgin Value Days. The campaign includes in-store, TV and print ads and is scheduled to run Aug. 1–26.

Los Angeles agency The Ballpark broke a campaign for an ESPN X-Games/Circuit City promotion. The campaign runs through mid-August, when the X-Games are scheduled to begin.

Di Zinno Thompson in San Diego created a radio and print campaign to promote the release of a new trading card line, the Upper Deck Golf Series.

Media firm Round2 Worldwide in Los Angeles plans to open a San Francisco office in mid-August to handle its client load in Northern California. The firm opened a London office in April.

The Townsend Agency in San Diego released LaunchPad, a program designed to jump-start strategic marketing initiatives.

Fusion Films in Santa Monica is working with nonprofit group Heal the Bay in efforts to produce a commercial to broaden awareness of water-pollution issues.

Marshall Advertising & Design in Costa Mesa is introducing the 2002 line of Yamaha all-terrain vehicles with a $5 million campaign that includes TV, print, radio and outdoor ads. TV spots use the song "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" from The Sound of Music.

Total Compass Entertainment tapped al Punto Advertising in Tustin to promote a traveling circus tentatively titled Circo Latino aimed at Hispanic audiences. The shop, which won the $2.5 million account after a review of a dozen shops, will break ads in time for the show's October debut.

WASHINGTON

Weber Marketing Group in Seattle was tapped by Campbell Soup Co. subsidiary Stockpot to create a differentiated corporate brand and market its product line nationally.

Palazzo deMix in Seattle was retained by RealArcade to work on marketing efforts for the service, developed by RealNetworks. The campaign will consist of two phases with print and online advertising, sales collateral and strategic services.

The Hacker Group in Bellevue, a subsidiary of Foote, Cone & Belding, was tapped by three software companies for direct mail lead-generation campaigns. SurfControl in Scotts Valley, Calif., Jasc Software in Eden Prairie, Minn., and eHelp in La Jolla, Calif., all join the agency's roster.
