Verida Internet Corp., San Francisco, has acquired Triad Creative, a Northern California strategic marketing agency. Gardner, Geary, Coll & Young, San Francisco, launched a new print and outdoor campaign for More.com. Redwood City-based Respond.com launched a multimillion-dollar ad campaign created by San Francisco-based Rathje Chadwick & Co. Vilas Advertising of Oakland added to its client roster National Airmotive Corp. of Oakland and Norcal Mutual Insurance Co. and McGuire Real Estate, both of San Francisco. Peet's Coffee and Tea of Berkeley selected San Francisco-based Enterprise/SBG to design a new image, beginning with coffee packaging and continuing through to retail signing. DesignTribe, San Francisco, was selected to spearhead public relations efforts for Federal Realty Investment Trust's new Silicon Valley "Urban Village" development. - OREGON Karakas Parmley Eisner & Associates, Portland, was retained as agency of record for Grass Valley Group, formerly Tektronix VND. Portland's Creative Services selected Leopold Ketel & Partners, also of Portland, as its agency of record to help brand the city as a major creative hub. Creative Co. has redesigned a capability brochure for Central Machine Works, Portland. The Salem-based marketing communications agency was also selected to rebrand data management software company Xenex as Thought.Velocity. Sandstrom Design, Portland, developed a complete identity and packaging strategy for Evolution No. 9, a new white wine from Sokol Blossom Winery, Dundee. Sasquatch Advertising, Portland, was awarded advertising duties for health supplement ingredient manufacturer Nutrition 21, based in Purchase, N.Y. - SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA The Sutherland Agency was selected to develop corporate branding campaigns for Friendly Energy Corp., Douglas Financial Corp., California Health Improvement Partners of San Diego, Travelplanet.com and the Digital Business Association. The San Diego agency was also hired by Vista-based Daltron Systems to develop corporate marketing collateral materials. The Recording Academy selected Mark Deitch & Associates, Burbank, to design the logo for the 2000 Grammy Awards. Brigham Scully was selected by Mainsaver for advertising and public relations. The Woodland Hills agency also added Speed to Market Engines and Automated Identification Technologies to its client roster. Hauser Design & Advertising, Beverly Hills, was named agency for Locus Telecommunications' CallPlus pre-paid digital wireless phone service account. Lages & Associates, Irvine, was named public relations agency for Digital Paths. ThinkTank Advertising--Broadcast Design, San Diego, created a series of radio spots for SignOn San Diego.com, the online division of the San Diego Union-Tribune. C. Hoelzle Associates, Irvine, assigned its ad account to Szenderski Rohani Worldwide. The Irvine shop won the account in August after a review. Tustin-based Hilary Kaye Associates added American Fine Lubricants and BDS Natural Products to its client roster. ICN Pharmaceutical tapped Century City-based Reckas & Franke Advertising to promote Virazole, one of its leading prescription products. YP.net, Mesa, Ariz., selected Drasnin Communications, Del Mar, to showcase the relaunch of its redesigned Web site. The T&O Group, Irvine, will provide marketing services for the Orange County chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
