FLORIDA MediaGraphics of Naples has won best of show for a color newspaper ad in the real estate category for Cozumel, a beachfront high-rise of The Antaramian and Nassif Cos. on Marco Island. The same ad also won a silver from the Florida Newspaper Advertising and Marketing Executives. The two offices of Hallmark/Tassone in Tampa have united under one roof and moved to Urban Center Two on the West Shore. The new address is 4890 West Kennedy Blvd., Suite 920, Tampa, 33609-1850. One office, previously Altman Meder Lawrence Hill, became part of Hallmark Tassone last July soon after principal Ann Altman won a civil suit against Florida's Department of Revenue resulting in a tax refund of more than $70,000. Words & Vision Advertising, the Fort Lauderdale agency focusing on niche marketing to the gay and lesbian population, has opened a Chicago office. Jacksonville's Willman & Co. has been named agency of record for the Jacksonville Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau. The agency will execute a marketing plan and provide print advertising, collateral materials and public relations. GEORGIA Fruit of the Loom Activewear in Bowling Green, Ky., has named Infinitee Communications of Atlanta to support its advertising and marketing. The agency will handle specific business-to-business projects incorporating direct mail, magazine advertising and promotional strategies. The Web Marketing Association presented Kilgannon McReynolds of Atlanta a Standard of Excellence honor at the WebAward competition for its body of corporate work in the past year. Jackson Spalding, an Atlanta communications management firm, has added the following Atlanta clients worth about $400,000 in billings: Asset Management Outsourcing, Cherokee Banking, Georgia Association for the Prevention and Treatment of Substance Abuse, Good Samaritan Health Center, Laurel Springs, Re/Max Greater Atlanta and Windermere Apartments. Also, Flag Financial of LaGrange and Practical Intelligence at Work in Boca Raton, Fla. J. Walter Thompson of Atlanta has won a Cine Golden Eagle for its Forged With Spirit and Pride recruitment film for the U.S. Marine Corps and two Mobius Advertising Awards for set design and training in the USMC's "Rite of passage" marketing campaign. JWT also took a Mobius first place in the recreation category for its mosaic TV campaign for the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism. Fleishman-Hillard International Communications in Atlanta has won three new clients, generating about $725,000 in annual billings. For the National Cardiovascular Network of U.S. medical specialists and Sto Corp., a German maker of building materials, the agency will create public awareness campaigns. Homestead Village, an extended-stay lodging chain based in Atlanta, has hired the shop to develop a national public relations campaign. Additionally, the Georgia Child Care Council will continue using Fleishman-Hillard for its public communications after a bi-annual review. Atlanta's Fitzgerald & Co. won a silver medallion and a finalist certificate for its work on the Tennessee Valley Authority and Quikrete accounts at the AME International Awards. Clockwork Advertising in Atlanta has picked up creative work for Remy Amerique's Mount Gay rum and Piper-Heidsieck champagne accounts. Projects for the New York company include new image advertising, packaging design and promotions for both brands. A new public relations firm, Theimann Marketing Communications, has been formed in Atlanta. Atlanta's point b has been selected to launch strategic marketing campaigns for Oldcastle, a supplier of lawn and garden products, Georgia Power and BellSouth Advertising & Publishing. LOUISIANA Kupper Parker/Fitzgerald of New Orleans was selected agency of record for the local Le Meridien Hotel. MARYLAND Mitchell Advertising of Bethesda has acquired the American Veterans Service Foundation account. The agency will develop a marketing communications program for the Amvets Thrift Stores. The Reeves Agency in Baltimore has been contracted for ad duties by Downtown Locker Room, a retailer of urban apparel and shoes with 18 outlets in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., areas. Freed & Associates of Hanover has been named agency of record for VirtualRelocation.com, an Internet Web site and search engine based in Beaverton, Ore. NORTH CAROLINA Corder Phillips & Wilson, Charlotte, earned a 1998 Business Marketing Association Pro-Comm award for a print campaign it created for American and Efird. CP&W was also named agency for The Greens in Huntersville, developed by Forest City Land Group, as well as promotion and marketing for The Cypress of Charlotte, a continuing care retirement community. SOUTH CAROLINA The Lewis Group of Greenville will design a bilingual Web site for TC Mirafi, an Atlanta manufacturer of geosynthetics intended for civil engineering applications. Lewis was also hired by Bradshaw Automotive Cos. in Greenville to handle advertising and promotions for all of the company's dealerships. TENNESSEE Davis Newman Payne Advertising and Communications of Knoxville has been named agency for Azimut North America. Based in Italy, Azimut is Europe's largest manufacturer of luxury yachts. DNP will be responsible for creative, public relations, media, direct mail and collateral duties. Conway Marketing in Knoxville has been selected by Zylux Corp., a maker of rapid hygiene testing systems based in Maryville, to handle its advertising and corporate communications. Manufacturer of batteries for electric buses and forklifts, Hawker Powersource of Ooltewah has awarded its national business-to-business advertising account to The Johnson Group in Chattanooga. VIRGINIA KSK Communications in Vienna will provide pro bono television, print and radio advertising services to Children's Hospice International in Alexandria.
