Vic Owens, contracts manager at the Knoxville, Tenn.-based public utility whose roots go back to the New Deal, confirmed that a dozen shops are competing for the estimated $2 million business.
The Green Power Switch program is dedicated to developing alternative energy sources; Energy Right promotes conservation.
Owens suggested that the request for proposal that went out earlier this month might become the basis for assigning TVA’s $12 million overall marketing business.
“We are giving ourselves some flexibility to use this rfp if other requirements come up,” Owens said.
