Zoom Media Corp. continues to grow its digital out-of-home portfolio in fitness venues, announcing Tuesday (Nov. 3) it had acquired Gym Screen Media (Gym TV), a 160 venue digital channel in high-end fitness centers in the U.K.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
By acquiring its top competitor in the U.K., Zoom expands its footprint in the health and fitness space to more than 650 venues in the U.K. and more than 2,200 worldwide.
Since Zoom acquired ClubCom in 2008, the company has been steadily building up its health and fitness network, creating Bally TV for Bally Total Fitness and purchasing the Wellness Health Education Network.
“Digital media is a dramatic game-changer, and we believe this is the ideal time to invest in offering our advertisers, as well as our venue partners more solutions to address their respective challenges,” said Francois de Gaspe Beaubien, chairman and CEO of Zoom Media.
Competition in OOH health and fitness media is growing and consolidating. Other big players in the space include Reach Media Group, which recently acquired IdeaCast; and Health Club Media Network, which acquired Alloy Fitness Network.
