A group creative director has jumped up to replace Anthony DiBiase as the creative chief of Wunderman West.
Assuming the role of ecd is Craig Evans, 43, who will oversee 30 creative staffers and report to regional managing director Dan Olson. DiBiase, who had held the top job since 2006, has left the agency.
Wunderman West encompasses offices in Irvine, Calif. and San Francisco. The former is a full-service operation and the latter, a satellite for account management executives.
Top accounts in the region include Southwest Airlines, Invisalign, Southern California Edison, Health Net and LegalZoom. As group cd, Evans worked on all of those except Health Net.
Evans joined Wunderman in 2010, after six years at fellow WPP Group agency Young & Rubicam, where he worked on brands such as Callaway Golf. Earlier in his career, he was a principal at Matthews | Evans | Albertazzi in San Diego and a partner at Big Bang Idea Engineering in San Diego.
Olson described Evans as hard-working, smart and “a bit of a mad scientist—able to quickly dissect a problem and deliver astounding solutions.” In his new role—as in his old one—he'll be based in Irvine.
