VML Acquires Stake in Digital Marketing Shop

CHICAGO WPP Group agency VML has acquired a majority stake in independent digital marketing shop Studiocom. Terms were not disclosed.

The Kansas City, Mo., based VML acquired an 80 percent interest in Atlanta-based Studiocom, which will operate as an independent unit with offices in Los Angeles and Bogota, Colombia. In addition to its experience in online product launches and branded entertainment development, Studiocom has developed a proprietary online multi-player gaming platform.

“We’re constantly looking for technical and creative innovation to ensure we continue to bring our clients the latest and most effective digital marketing solutions,” said VML CEO Matt Anthony, in a statement.
