The Salvation Army’s “Red Kettle” campaign is having trouble raising money this year, and the economy is to blame, per USA Today.

Last year, the campaign raised $139 million in donations, up from $130 million in 2008. This year, however, donations are down in most U.S. regions, USA Today said.
