Red Wing Shoes is discussing its estimated $2 million account with Minneapolis shops Clar ity Coverdale Fury, Colle + McVoy, Gabriel deGrood Bendt and Periscope. A decision is expected in mid-September, according to sources.
Peter Engel, Red Wing's director of marketing communications, confirmed that the Red Wing, Minn., company would hear from the four shops but declined to provide further details about the review.
Minneapolis boutique One and All parted with Red Wing earlier this year. The agency's work included a TV spot depicting a construction worker on a bed as a metaphor for the comfort of his work boots. Red Wing, founded in 1905, is known for its work boots and shoes.
The company spent $2 million on advertising last year.
