The National Basketball Association said it has signed a multiyear deal with Zed, which develops and markets entertainment and community products and services for mobile and the Internet, to expand the NBA’s overall mobile reach to more than 20 countries.

Activation will be in place for the 2008-09 NBA season. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Working with Denver-based Zed, NBA will expand its mobile content offerings throughout North America, Europe and select countries in Asia; and for first time encompass the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and Germany.

Content will include video highlights, wallpapers for all 30 teams and ring tones.
