Media That Works has won three media buying and planning assignments that sources value at upward of $40 million.
The Cincinnati media agency has been awarded all media chores on Pleasant Holidays' account, which sources estimate to be worth $10 million. The Westlake Village, Calif., client markets customized vacation packages from 260 offices nationwide. The task had been handled in-house, where creative responsibility remains.
MTW has also been selected as media agency of record for two other clients: Hollywood Entertainment Corp., operator of the Hollywood Video movie rental chain, and Honeywell Consumer Products, sources said.
Tim Hahnke, MTW's San Diego-based executive vice president and partner who heads new business efforts, confirmed the Pleasant Holidays win. He would not estimate billings, however, and declined to comment further. [See feature on page 33.] Officials at Honeywell in Southborough, Mass., confirmed MTW's win but also declined further comment.
Hollywood Entertainment in Portland, Ore., could not be reached.
Hollywood Entertainment in February moved creative duties on its account to Cliff Freeman and Partners, New York, succeeding Suissa Miller Advertising in Los Angeles. Western International Media's Portland, Ore., office had handled media buying. The client last month detailed plans to open 400 more units this year. At the end of 1997, it had 907 stores. Accordingly, sources said the client has earmarked more than $20 million for ads.
Honeywell launched a review for its estimated $10 million account in January after the client parted company with the former Houston Herstek Favat, sources said.
