Redmond, Wash.-based portal MSN and Mountain View, Calif.-based search engine Google both announced alliances with Handspring Inc., also based in Mountain View, on Tuesday. Users of Handspring's new Blazer Web browser for Handspring Visors, as well as almost any other Palm handheld device, will now be able to access MSN content and services and perform searches on Google via their handheld devices.
MSN also announced on Tuesday that it has entered into a strategic marketing alliance with Chicago-based United Airlines Corp. The two companies will develop a co-branded access service, as well as offer a range of cross-promotional opportunities through online and offline outlets. United Airlines will be the premier airline service provider across the MSN network of services, which has more than 230 million unique users.
