LOS ANGELES — IHOP Corp. has awarded McCann-Erickson the creative portion of its $30 million account, an agency representative said.

The Los Angeles shop edged out Young & Rubicam in Irvine, Calif., and Venables, Bell & Partners in San Francisco for the win. An IHOP representative confirmed that the Glendale, Calif., company has selected an agency but declined further comment, stating that a contract has not yet been signed.

The restaurant chain placed the account in review in April, after splitting with two-year incumbent Heil-Brice Retail Advertising, Newport Beach, Calif.
