Mary Baglivo Heads Back to Northwestern

Former Saatchi leader becomes CMO of her alma mater

Baglivo worked at Saatchi from 2004 until this year.

Mary Baglivo is going back to school.

Baglivo, the former CEO of the Americas and New York office of Saatchi & Saatchi, is joining Northwestern University as vp for global marketing and chief marketing officer. The hire is a reunion of sorts, as Baglivo is a graduate of Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications, where she earned a master's degree in integrated marketing communications.

"We are excited to have someone of Mary's strength and capabilities to lead our branding initiatives," said Daniel Linzer, Northwestern's provost.

Baglivo left Saatchi this spring after more than eight years there. She joined as CEO of the New York office and added the Americas role before shifting, briefly, to chairman and CEO of Latin America and multicultural.

Earlier in her career, Baglivo was president of the New York office of Arnold; North American chief operating officer at JWT; and CEO of Euro RSCG Tatham, Chicago.

Baglivo also has served as a trustee of Northwestern and a member of an advisory board for Medill. Oh, and she has one other connection to the school: her son, John Meguerian, graduated from Northwestern last year.
