Dumped by the nation’s top modem maker in an agency consolidation, The Leap Partnership here has hooked up with a competitor, Rockwell International Semiconductor Systems, the agency confirmed last week.
Rockwell International’s Costa Mesa, Calif.-based unit named Leap its agency, unseating incumbent Bozell in Costa Mesa.
Leap previously handled advertising for U.S. Robotics, Skokie, Ill., which was acquired earlier this year by 3Com Communications, Santa Clara, Calif. 3Com last month consolidated advertising with Foote, Cone & Belding in San Francisco.
Leap will run the Rockwell account out of its Los Angeles office.
