International Ad Festival Honors BMW

NEW YORK BMW has been named Advertiser of the Year by the International Advertising Festival at Cannes.

Dr. Helmut Panke, chairman of the board of management of BMW AG, will accept the award at the festival on June 26.

BMW advertising has won four gold Lions and received the first President's Titanium Lion last year for its series of BMW Internet films. Those films starred Clive Owen as a driver for hire who embarks on a series of adventures, such as meeting the devil, while driving a BMW.

Previous recipients of the Advertiser of the Year Award include Nike and Anheuser-Busch.

This year's International Advertising Festival will take place June 20-26.
