DALLAS Harte-Hanks has named Campbell-Ewald Advertising senior vice president Brian K. Esterberg vice president for automotive markets, the company said.

Esterberg will be stationed at the San Antonio-based direct and targeted marketing company's office in Sterling Heights, Mich., a Harte-Hanks representative said.

As svp at C-E, Esterberg also served as director of direct marketing planning, according to the H-H rep. His primary focus was to manage strategic planning and development of integrated direct marketing programs for the agency's Chevrolet account, the company said.

Before joining C-E, Esterberg was vice president and account director at Doner Direct, where he led the agency's direct marketing initiatives for Mazda. He began his career in the automotive industry as an analyst and specialist at Electronic Data Systems in 1990.

"Throughout his nearly 15-year career in the automotive and direct marketing field, Brian has demonstrated success in business development within the Detroit market and has established himself as a trusted advisor in that community," said Bill Goldberg, svp, H-H.

"Harte-Hanks has gained significant momentum in the automotive marketplace, particularly as many automotive brands are increasing efforts to build relationships with their owners and with prospective car buyers, using both direct and dealer channels," Esterberg said. "The company's expertise in data-driven marketing capabilities is helping auto clients increase their marketing returns."

Esterberg, a graduate of Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., is a member of the Direct Marketing Association of Detroit.
