NEW YORK Rob Strasberg, former cd at MDC Partners' Crispin Porter + Bogusky is joining independent Doner in Southfield, Michigan, as CCO, according to Alan Kalter, Doner CEO.

Strasberg replaces John DeCerchio, the previous CCO. DeCerchio is moving to a non-creative position at the agency that has yet to be determined.

"I interviewed a lot of people over the last nine months," said Kalter. "The first thing I found fascinating was that they all worked at public agencies and they all wanted to work at a private one. They were tired of the financial pressures."

Strasberg was at Crispin, Miami, for the past 8 1/2 years working on accounts such as Bell and Volkswagen. He was a cd on the latest VW campaigns "Safe happens," "Unpimp your ride" and "Fast."

"I thought he was incredibly talented and smart and he inspired confidence and he inspired people to deliver the best they could deliver," said Kalter. "He's intense when it comes to advertising. He's focused and he's nice. Usually nice doesn't come into play."

Strasberg, whose last day at Crispin was today, will start at Doner in March. "At the top of his to-do list will be becoming familiar with the people who work here and our clients," said Kalter. "This isn't about revolution; it's about a renaissance."

Doner's clients include Mazda, Serta, ADT, Owens Corning and HGTV.
