Dawn Winchester Takes a Top Role at Publicis

Becomes chief digital officer for North America

Dawn Winchester has been named North American chief digital officer of Publicis—a new role at the Publicis Groupe shop.

Most recently, Winchester was chief marketing services officer at Interpublic Group's R/GA, where she spent 14 years and worked on brands like Bank of America, Coca-Cola, Capital One, Microsoft, Nike, Samsung, Unilever, Verizon and Wal-Mart.

In her new job, Winchester will be based in New York and report to Publicis North American CEO Andrew Bruce, who assumed that role in December. Winchester is Bruce’s second major hire since then: In February he tapped Carla Serrano, the former CEO of Naked Communications, as chief strategy officer of Publicis Kaplan Thaler.

The news of Winchester’s hire comes on the heels of another major addition to Publicis’ digital leadership. Earlier this month, worldwide CEO Arthur Sadoun named long-time AKQA executive Guy Wieynk as CEO of Publicis UK Group and the company’s Nordic region.
