Danoo, the digital out-of-home company that recently acquired Ideacast, named Garry McGuire, Jr. as its new chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors, the company announced Wednesday (July 22). Most recently McGuire served as chairman if Icon Internet Ventures, which owns and publishes Web sites that aggregate target audiences.
McGuire succeeds Aileen Lee, who becomes chair of Danoo's board and returns to her role as partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Danoo's venture capital firm.
In his new position, McGuire will focus on integrating IdeaCast's health and airline networks with Danoo's networks in cafes, coffee houses and airports and growing the digital out-of-home business in strategic high-value markets.
"Our strong financial position and backing from national CineMedia and Kleiner Perkins put Danoo and IdeaCast in a phenomenal position to accelerate this growth. Garry's passion for the business and his extensive background in building and consolidating media businesses makes him the idea person to lead the company down this exciting path," Lee said.
