Seattle agency Creature found its new president in City Hall.
James Keblas previously was director of Seattle's Office of Film + Music, which worked with Creature on the office's "Commercialize Seattle" campaign last year.
Keblas spent nine years at the office before losing his job in February, thereby opening the door to joining Creature. This is his first agency job.
Keblas fills a vacancy left by the fall 2012 exit of Robson Grieve, who became evp of worldwide marketing at Concur. Creature, which also has an office in London, has a staff of more than 85, including 54 in Seattle. Top accounts include Dickies, Truvia, Brooks and social gaming company Double Down Casino.
In a cheeky nod to the circumstances that brought Keblas to Creature, the agency created an ad and Twitter hashtag that thanked new Seattle Mayor Ed Murray for firing Keblas. The shop also introduced its newest executive on the steps of City Hall. All this after filmmakers and musicians like Lynn Shelton and Sir Mix-A-Lot saluted Keblas in a send-off roast at The Showbox, a local music hall.
