Media agency veteran Tim Hanlon has joined marketing services consultancy Catalyst S+F as a partner, the company has confirmed.
In his new role, Hanlon will be responsible for the firm's venture capital investment and advisory strategies. He will also serve as the lead consultant on advanced media issues.
Hanlon will open a Chicago office for Catalyst S+F, which specializes in providing advice to startups, brands and investors in the marketing sector.
Most recently, Hanlon was evp at VivaKi Ventures, a unit of Publicis Groupe, which he left last fall. While there, he oversaw the unit's strategic partnership and investment activity. Earlier, he held similar roles at sibling shop Denuo and Publicis Groupe Media. Before that, he was svp, director, emerging contacts for Starcom MediaVest Group from 2000-05.
"Tim has over 20 years of traditional and interactive agency media experience across the intersection of marketing, media, advertising and technology," said John Durham, Catalyst S+F's CEO and managing partner. "He is well known across the marketing and advertising industry for his innovation and vision."
Hanlon is opening Catalyst's second new office in six months. In December, the shop expanded to New York under the direction of gm, client services Cody Duval.
