Brandon Cooke has been promoted to global chief marketing officer at mcgarrybowen, a new position at the Dentsu agency.
Cooke, 33, has been with mcgarrybowen since March 2010 and most recently served as managing director, global business development. Before that, he worked at Interpublic’s Gotham Inc. and held various roles in account management and business development at Grey.
In addition to mcgarrybowen’s Manhattan flagship and Chicago office, the agency has expanded internationally to London, Dusseldorf and Shanghai. The agency also has plans to open in Mexico City and Sao Paulo. Current U.S.-based clients the agency works with internationally include Mondelez, Disney and JP Morgan Chase.
While most of mcgarrybowen’s global new-business development has primarily been handled out of its New York headquarters, the agency is starting to see accounts pitched locally within its network. Earlier this month, for instance, the agency’s London office won creative duties for U.K. sweet pickle spread Branston. In addition to growing new business overseas, and increasing work there from U.S. based multinationals, Cooke said he aims to foster a cohesive mcgarrybowen brand image internationally.
“We want to make sure the mcgarrybowen brand is being built and marketed consistently across our growing network; one voice, one master brand," said Cooke.
