BBDO N.Y. Cuts 20 Staffers

BBDO laid off 20 staffers in its New York headquarters today, the Omnicom Group agency has confirmed.

The cut, which affected several departments, represented nearly 4 percent of the shop’s headcount, leaving about 545 staffers, according to an agency representative.

The reduction comes amid BBDO’s loss of lead creative duties on Yum! Brands’ Pizza Hut, which spent more than $260 million in major measured media last year, according to Nielsen. Through September of this year, the brand’s media spend totaled $165 million, per Nielsen.
