David Murphy is leaving his namesake Minneapolis boutique agency Barrie D’Rozario Murphy after five years to return to Los Angeles, where his family resides.
The Barrie D’Rozario Murphy co-president and director of strategic planning joined the agency from Saatchi & Saatchi L.A., where he had been president. Prior to that role, at Y&R Brands he was president of the combined Southern California offices of Y&R and Wunderman. He has been a weekly commuter between Minneapolis and L.A. since joining Barrie D’Rozario Murphy in 2007.
Barrie D'Rozario Murphy, founded in 2006 by former Fallon creative directors Bob Barrie and Stuart D’Rozario, works for marketers like Dell, Land’s End, Best Buy, Bissell, Del Webb and Medtronic.
Describing Murphy as "a great partner," D’Rozario said a decision hasn't been made about changing the agency’s name. However, he said a national search has been launched to find a successor to Murphy and he hopes to have that person signed up in the next six-to-eight weeks.
