Two Bid for Philadelphia Newspapers

Tomorrow the second auction for the right to own The Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News, among other entities will take place, and today two groups placed bids to participate in the auction.

The two groups placing bids include a group of senior lenders of the Philadelphia Newspapers, LLC – the newspaper’s parent company. The other party vying for the property is Philadelphia businessman Raymond Perelman and the Carpenters Union’s pension fund, according to Philly.com, which also is part of the auction.
