Thomson Reuters To Launch Financial Video Service Tomorrow

Thomson Reuters is set to launch an online financial video service this Tuesday, partially in order to meet the changing needs of news consumers. Named “Reuters Insider,” the new service is expected to stream some 2,000 (commercial-length) shows a week, produced by the company’s own reporters and 150 partners. In fact, only about 15 percent of Reuters Insider’s content will come from the company’s own studios, with the majority coming in from major media outlets, like CNBC, from analysts at UBS, Roubini Global Economics and JPMorgan, and from certain niche providers.

The service will only be available to Reuters’ subscribers, who have the option of creating their own personalized channels by applying filters or navigating by, say, region or sector through Reuters Insider’s main page, called Channel One.
