SeekingAlpha To Pay Its Writers

After seven years of relying on unpaid contributions, stock market commentary site Seeking Alpha will be paying its writers, paidContent reports.

Founder David Jackson told paidContent “the fast-growing site can, for the first time, afford to pay contributors a ‘meaningful’ amount,” which in this case means $10 per 1,000 page views. That’s 5x more than Yahoo’s Contributor Network (neé Associated Content), which pays about $2 per 1,000 page views plus an upfront payment, and unlike other content networks in the same price range, Seeking Alpha’s editorial staff vets all submissions before publishing, which should cut down on the risk of linkbait.
