Gigaom is done, a move that surprised pretty much everyone who followed the pioneering site founded by Om Malik. “Gigaom recently became unable to pay its creditors in full at this time… All operations have ceased. We do not know at this time what the lenders intend to do with the assets or if there will be any future operations using those assets,” a statement posted by management read. Staffers started posting the sad news on Twitter Monday night, with Mathew Ingram writing, “This hurts more than I can say… We tried our best, but it wasn’t enough.”
