CNN makes a major move to extend its CNNMoney brand internationally, adding Richard Quest as editor at large. “By uniting our portfolio of U.S. and international business reporting under the CNNMoney brand, we now offer an even more compelling product to globally-minded consumers hungry for a smart, accessible business and financial news experience – everywhere in the world,” CNN International senior vice president and general manager Mike McCarthy said in a statement. Other staffers joining the venture are John Defterios, Andrew Stevens, Eleni Giokos and Samuel Burke. They’ll be based in cities that include Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong and Johannesburg…

The Cincinnati Enquirer moves Terry DeMio to a new beat. She’s covering the region’s heroin epidemic. “As we tweaked our beats here and made some adjustments, it was just really clear to me that we needed to devote a full-time person to it,” editor Peter Bhatia said. “Any editor can tell you that there are way more issues to cover than we can actually get to, but my focus here has been making sure that we’re doing the most important things really well and in-depth, and in that context, heroin certainly rises to standing on its own as a beat.”… The New York Times changes up its business desk, including sending Adrienne Carter to London.
