On the heels of the mostly positive response to Caitlyn Jenner’s recent coming out as a transgender woman (she will receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award during tonight’s ESPY Awards on ABC) and the Supreme Court ruling in favor of same-sex marriage, the LGBT community has had a lot to celebrate in recent weeks, and deservedly so. However, many people will agree that the battle for equal rights is hardly over, and The Advocate could not be more relevant at this moment.
