The New York Times is celebrating its one million digital subscriber milestone by making 50 of its best pieces available to readers for free. All of the pieces were published after the Times launched its paywall, in 2011.
As part of the celebration, the Times is asking readers to send feedback on the articles and on the Times in general to million@nytimes.com. Some of those comments will then be featured in a content package published on Oct. 5.
Below are some of the great articles that are now available for free.
- Coverage of Hurricane Sandy
- The Price of Nice Nails, by Sarah Maslin Nir
- The iEconomy – A series of articles that detail the darker side of the tech economy
- Invisible Child – A five-part series on a homeless girl living in the city
