More Details From the 'Capital' Beta Launch: Meet the Masthead

And we’re back with more about Capital New York, which just launched in password-protected beta this afternoon (we got screenshots).

First off, Merrill Brown, the founding editor of MSNBC.com, is consulting on the project (more about him here). So is Andrew Rasiej, founder of Personal Democracy Forum and chairman of NY Tech Meetup.

Judging by the roster of contributors, many (but not all) of whom already have journalism jobs, the site is an Awl or True/Slant-type forum where accomplished writers and amateurs who somehow work their way into the editors’ good graces can sound off on off-beat subjects that interest them.
