Marketing Exec Resume Makeover

The Wall Street Journal got career experts to make over the resume of a marketing-exec-on-the-job-hunt. From reading the comments we’ve been reminded of just this about the rules: that there are no rules, only guidelines.

One page? Nah, two or three is fine. Don’t use jargon? Heck no, use it. And add a “computer proficiency” section? Okay, cool. That’s fine. (Our theory on “computer skills” sections is that they’re going to disappear or radically change in the next decade, because do you really need to announce on paper that you’re familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel? If you’re not these days you’re in some serious trouble.)
