M. Shanken Communications Acquires Malt Advocate Magazine, WhiskyFest
M. Shanken Communications, Inc. — publisher of Wine Spectator and Cigar Aficionado — has acquired Malt Advocate, Inc., which includes ownership of Malt Advocate magazine and the WhiskyFest events, which are held annually in New York, Chicago and San Francisco.
The company will continue operating out of Emmaus, Pennsylvania and John Hansell will remain publisher and editor of Malt Advocate. In addition, Amy Westlake will continue on as WhiskyFest director.
