Los Angeles Lakers Hire Spanish Broadcast Team
With Time Warner Cable launching a Spanish-language regional sports network in October, the Los Angeles Lakers have hired Adrian Garcia Marquez (play-by-play) and Francisco Pinto (television analyst) as the team’s TV announcers.
Garcia Marquez was most recently a network anchor and reporter for KMEX and Univision Sports. He has a wide variety of play-by-play experience, working as the lead announcer for Major League Baseball on Fox Deportes and calling four World Series in the process. Garcia Marquez has also worked at ESPN Deportes as an announcer, reporter and analyst.
Pinto spent 15 years at Univision as a sports/news anchor in Sacramento and Los Angeles, earning four Emmy nominations in the process.
